On Sunday 2nd October this unique event was held in Badminton Park, the 33rd year that The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds has held
the event to raise money for local charities.
It was held in Badminton Park in Gloucestershire, courtesy of the Duke of Beaufort, and the all-terrain course
took the runners over some of the world-famous Horse Trials obstacles, in sight of the deer herds, and through fields and woods.
Runners could enter as individuals or in teams for the half-marathon, 9 or 5 mile categories.
Canicross runners could enter for either 9 or 5 miles. Juniors, aged 15 or under, could enter the 5 mile category.
E-registration and chip timing were handled by Full on Sport, for the second year running, providing fast and
accurate results very soon after each event category was complete. Every entrant received a medal at
the finish, and the winner of each category received a prize. The best fancy dress team, judged at the beginning of the race, also received a prize.
Each year this event raises money for charities; in both 2016 and 2015 for example the majority of the money we
raised went to the Air Ambulance Service, and smaller sums were given to local air cadets, scout and girl guide groups, and to a charity run by one of our Rotarians that supports street children in
