Badminton Horseless Team Event 2015

This unique event was held on Sunday 4th October, and marked the 32nd year that this Rotary Club has held this annual event in Badminton Park, by invitation of the Duke of Beaufort. The all-terrain course takes the runners and Canicross runners over some of the famous Badminton equestrian jumps, along country tracks, in sight of the deer herds, and through fields and woods.

Runners could enter as individuals or in teams for the 5 and 9 mile events, or as individuals for the 13 miler. The Horseless Team Event can be an excellent event for friendly team rivalry or for a family day out. Juniors/Youths aged 15 or under on 4th October 2015 could enter the 5 mile event, and Canicross runners covered the same 5 mile course, albeit with a slightly earlier start time. E-registration and chip timing for the event was handled very successfully by Full On Sport.

With over thirty years of experience organising this event, members of the The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds ensured that every registered entrant received a medal at the finish; in addition, the first runner over the line, and the winners of each category, received a prize. The best fancy dress team, judged at the beginning of the race, also received a prize. This year the money raised fom entry fees and donations is being split between the Air Ambulance Service and for local charities.

We will be holding the 33rd Badminton Horseless Team Event on Sunday 2nd October 2016. Details will be published here and on our Facebook page in due course.

We are delighted that these companies supported the Badminton Horseless Team Event this year.
